Prison officer and family threatened

A prison officer and his uncle were threatened by an inmate recently released on bail for firearms and ammunition related charges.
The yet unnamed inmate left the prison and made his way to the officers uncle who was at home at the time of the threats.

The man was also reportedly part of a fight at the Golden Grove Prison in Arouca on October 15 with another inmate which was broken up by the prison officer, who received the threats. The inmate was injured as he was being detained.

He however received bail last Tuesday and made his way to the home of the uncle of the prison officer and threatened the uncle as well as the prison officer.

The threat was reported to police and the prisons officers leadership and prisons officers association. It is being taken very seriously since over ten officers have been killed in the past few years after receiving threats.
