Princes Town man fined $5,000 for conspiracy to commit burglary

A Princes Town man was fined $5,000 or in default will have to serve 12months’ hard labour after he appeared before a Princes Town
Magistrate today charged with conspiracy to commit burglary.

MATHEW MOSES, 31, of Iere Village, Branch Road, Princes Town, was arrested and charged during an anti-crime exercise conducted
in the area.

He appeared virtually before Magistrate Indira Misir-Gosine at the Princes Town Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday 25th March, 2021.

Whilst the officers were on mobile patrol along Iere Village, they saw three men lurking near a dwelling house. Upon seeing the officers, the men ran away. A chase ensued and Moses was subsequently held hiding in a bamboo patch. He was arrested and taken to the Princes Town Police station.

Following investigations by officers of Princes Town Criminal Investigation Department, Moses confessed to conspiring with other
persons to break and enter a dwelling house in the area.

He was charged after advice was received from the TTPS’ Legal Department.

Investigations were supervised by Sgt. Teeluck, and the charge was laid by PC Basdeo.
