Princes Town Man Charged With Possession Of A Firearm and Ammunition.

WAYNE JOHNSON, 35, of Canon Stroek Lane, Princes Town, appeared virtually before Senior Magistrate Indira Misir-Gosine of the Princes Town Magistrates’ Court Thursday.

He was denied bail and remanded into custody.

Johnson was charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition, possession of firearm and ammunition to endanger life, and wounding with intent.

It was reported on September 10th, 2021, a man and his friend were at a house drinking, when one of the men allegedly took out his firearm and began playing with it.

After multiple attempts to influence the man to stop playing with the firearm, it went off wounding his friend in his back.

A report was made to the Princes Town Police Station and members of the Criminal Investigation Department led by Sergeant Teeluck visited the scene and investigated the matter.

The firearm was seized and Johnson was later arrested and charged for the offences.

The accused is expected to reappear at the Princes Town Magistrates’ court on October 14th, 2021.
