Princes Town and Moruga men charged for possession of marijuana

Officers of the Southern Division Task Force (SDTF) have arrested and charged three men, a 45-year-old man, of Seudath Avenue, Princes Town, a 33-year-old man of Moruga Road, Indian Walk and a 47-year- old man of La Lune Road, Moruga for possession of marijuana.

The arrests were made during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Southern Division on Saturday May 1st, 2021 coordinated by Snr. Supt. Winchester, Supt. Jackman, Supt. Carty, and ASP Ramdass, supervised by Sgt. Joseph, Sgt. Charles and Acting/Cpl. Bahadur.

The officers executed search warrants for illegal firearms and ammunition in the Princes Town and Moruga districts.

During the search, Steve Hosein, 45, was charged for possession of nine marijuana plants. Keron Ramcharan, 33, was charged for possession of 75 grammes of marijuana and Kent La Rode, 47, was charged for possession of 150 grammes of marijuana.

As the exercise continued, a small marijuana field was discovered about 50 feet from St. Clair Road, Marac Village, Moruga where 200 marijuana trees were uprooted and destroyed. In addition, seven kilograms of marijuana was found about 150 feet away from the La Lune Road, Moruga.
