Prime Minister Rowley celebrates T&T in Independence message

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley has cited the recently concluded Carifesta as an example of the richness of Spirit that resides in Caribbean people. He said despite our ethnic, language and other differences we were one people.

The Prime Minister also chastised purveyores of doom and gloom who constantly spread negativity:
The PM said “spreading of a disappointingly negative story line that this country was in a state of crisis”.

In his Independence message marking Trinidad and Tobago’s 57th anniversary of Independence, Dr Rowley called for reflection on the “highs and lows” of the recent national experience, ranging from Carifesta to crime.

Trinidad and Tobago’s official Independence Military display and parade will take place this morning at the Queen’s Park Savannah.
