T&T has seen less inflation that several of its Caribbean counterparts according to the Trade Minister.
Speaking at Wednesday’s Senate sitting, Minister Paula Gopee-Scoon revealed that inflation has hit some of T&T’s regional and international counterparts particularly hard.
She was asked by Sentaor Wade Mark to identify what concrete mechanisms will be implemented to protect consumers’ reports of “price gouging” by private sector businesses in respect of basic and essential goods.
However, Minister Gopee-Scoon revealed that according to the Central bank data, this was not an issue facing the general public.
