President Paula-Mae Weekes final day in office

Today marks President Paula-Mae Weekes’ final day in office.

Her Excellency was T&T’s first female president and she opted to serve only one term, a decision that was made even before she was inaugurated in 2018.

In one of her last official duties as President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Her Excellency Paula-Mae Weekes ORTT, yesterday received the Credentials of Her Excellency Sonya Koppe incoming High Commissioner of Australia to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.

Accompanying High Commissioner Koppe on her visit to The President’s House were Ms Melissa Mitchell, Deputy High Commissioner and Mr. James Dart, First Secretary and Consul.

In an interview with The Guardian Newspaper, the outgoing President said that she was happy to come to the end of her term.

However she was very gratified by what she had done.

“The most gratifying aspect of it being her interactions with the youth.”

Here is a flash back of Her Excellency President Paula-Mae Weekes’s inauguration.
