President in quarantine

The mother of President Paula-Mae Weekes has contracted Covid-19, and as such, the president is now in quarantine.

A brief statement from the Office of the President says:

“The good news is Her Excellency’s mother who was vaccinated and boosted, experienced only mild symptoms and is now symptom-free, but still being monitored carefully.”

It says President Weekes, also vaccinated and boosted, continues to test negative and is working from home during the quarantine period.

However, her office says there will be no video Christmas message this year from Her Excellency.
