Pres. of T&T nurses association: Only 50% of T&T nurses vaccinated

While 31 % of T&T has received one jab and 18 % having received two jabs, nurses in T&T are at 50 % vaccinated. President of the Trinidad and Tobago Registered Nurses Association (TTRNA) Idi Stuart says he expects vaccination among the country’s 6000 nursing staff to increase significantly past the approximately 3000 nurses presently vaccinated, now that there is a choice of vaccines in the country.

Stuart made the comment in reference to Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh’s concern about not enough nurses being vaccinated in the country. Nurses have been at the frontline of the fight against Covid 19 since the start of the pandemic.

Minister Deyalsingh said that 50 per cent of nurses being vaccinated is actually higher than the national average currently,” and both the Minister and Stuart hoped the choice in different vaccines will encourage more nurses to become vaccinated.
