Preparations are being fine-tuned for the two day regional symposium on crime which will be held in Trinidad and Tobago this month.

Speaking with reporters at a news briefing on Thursday, Minister of Foreign and Caricom Affairs, Dr Amery Browne, said there has been a positive response to the event across the region, adding that he expects a high turnout for the occasion.

It will be held at the Hyatt Hotel in Port of Spain.

The root causes of violent crime will be explored and the Caricom Secretariat forms a key part of the planning for the event.

Dr Browne said the event will also be used to share experiences.
