Preparations are underway for a fitting ceremony in honour of Commonwealth Games 200 meters gold medallist, Jereem Richards, as well as Machel Cedenio and Kashief King who are all from Point Fortin.
Confirmation of this comes from Point Fortin Mayor, Saleema McCree Thomas.
Cedenio was a part of the 4 x400 meters relay team which won the gold medal in 3 minutes 01.29 seconds.
Mayor McCree Thomas said the Borough Council along with the Member of Parliament have been in contact with Richards as well as his agent finalising details for when he is scheduled to return to Trinidad in September this year. Speaking with News Power Now Thursday afternoon, Mayor McCree Thomas said by next week Friday she should be in a better position and have more details relating to the ceremony.
