Member of Parliament for St Augustine, Prakash Ramadhar, is urging citizens to do nothing which will hamper police officers in carrying out their duties.
Speaking with POWER 102fm this week with host Andy Johnson, Mr Ramadhar made the comment.
He also urged police officers to ensure that they respect the rights of citizens.
His statement comes on the heels of recent protest in Port of Spain over the fatal police shooting of three men in Morvant.
Mr Ramadhar also reflected on the court outcome of protests carried out by students from the University of the West Indies in 2018 who eventually had an encounter with police officers.
