Power is back.
Customers who were affected this morning by the outage stemming from a problem at a generating plant at one of the Independent Power Producers (IPP) are back on supply.
This according to the latest release from the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC).
It noted that around 9 am an issue at the plant triggered automatic load shedding across Trinidad, leading to outages in various locations.
Tobago was unaffected.
Restoration commenced just over one hour later, the release stated.
The release stated, “The matter is being investigated by the Independent Power Producer and a report will be provided to T&TEC. T&TEC offers its unreserved apology to its customers for the inconvenience experienced because of this incident.”
