Power outage leaves many parts of Trinidad without supply

A power outage has affected many parts of Trinidad.

T&TEC PRO Annabel Brasnell confirmed that there was a major disturbance on the system.

She said however that the Commission is still trying to determine the root cause of the problem.

Ms Brasnell did state that they are working assiduously to find the issue and get the supply back up quickly.

The power outage occurred at 12:50 pm.

She revealed that while there was work afoot to rectify the problem, she was unable to give a time frame on just when this would be done.

The T&TEC PRO said that she was not in a position to give any additional information at this time, except to reassure customers that the Commission was doing all that it could to identify and rectify the issue as soon as it possibly can.

Their 800 numbers are currently down, however customers can contact the Call Center 794 – 4823 or 794 – 7264. The Commission has advised that due to the high call volume customers will experience some delay.
