Positive Outlook For Tourism Sector With Job Creation And Improved Room Stock.

An encouraging outlook is given for the tourism sector with new hotels which are still in the construction phase.

This level of confidence and optimism was expressed by Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Randall Mitchell, in the Senate during the Budget Debate Wednesday afternoon.

Minister Mitchell gave an update on the status of several hotel projects now taking place indicating the various time lines when they are scheduled to be completed.

Mr Mitchell admitted the projects experienced delay due to Covid-19 pandemic restrictions.

Minister Mitchell said the benefits from the completion of these hotels are significant bringing jobs and providing improved quality room stock to Trinidad and Tobago.

Minister Mitchell also revealed some of the plans which will be carried out over the next financial year in a bid to get momentum going in the tourism sector alongside partnership with various stakeholders.
