There is a plan to address the drainage infrastructure in Port of Spain so as to reduce flooding.
This assurance comes from Works Minister Rohan Sinanan.
His comment on Power 102 Digital’s Power Breakfast Show comes as the capital city spent several days this week under flood waters.
Minister Sinanan said after a failed study in collaboration with the IDB, international consultants have been engaged to help improve the drainage infrastructure and he expects work to begin in January.
Minister Sinanan added that he expects the situation to worsen in coming years and therefore action had to be taken to address the matter.
