A Port of Spain business owner is now in the process of picking up the pieces for the start of the new year, as his business went up in flames during celebrations to kick off the New Year.
Bernard Forde, of Nelson Street, Port-of-Spain was informed eyewitnesses that his business place, Jay’s Laundromat located at Nelson Street, was on fire.
The incident took place just after 12 midnight when fireworks were set to ring off 2023 – several reports indicate that fireworks triggered the blaze.
Fire services Division responded to the call.
The fire at Jay’s Laundromat comprised three other business places.
Jay’s Laundromat sustained roof damage.
There has been no report of injury our loss of life.
