In light of the issues surrounding vendors at the San Juan market, Port-of-Spain vendors have expressed concern about their rental fees and claims that San Juan vendors live in luxury.
Izzso reporters spoke with several vendors attached to the Charlotte Street Heritage Route Market, who said that while San Juan vendors are complaining about paying a minimal fee of $400-$800, Port-of-Spain vendors are forced to pay a rental starting from $1,000 to 1,800, for 3 days a week and a total of 12 days per month.
