Political Scientist says Augustine must comment on leaked tapes, as no comment suggests guilt

It’s been almost a week after an audio tape was leaked, purporting to be two Tobago House Assembly (THA) executive members discussing plans to hire people in the THA to promote political propaganda.

In the audio clip, persons whose voices closely resemble THA Chief Secretary Farley Augustine and Leader of Assembly Business Zorisha Hackett can be heard.

However since the audio tape surfaced there has still been no response from Chief Secretary Farley Augustine on the matter.

One Political Scientist believes that something must be said on the matter by Augustine, as to say nothing amounts to guilt.

Political Scientist Dr Shane Mohammed says whatever is said must be done in the soonest possible time.

Speaking with News Power Now this morning, Dr Mohammed said whether there was denial of any involvement in the audio tape or an apology for what was said the matter had to be addressed and saying nothing was simply not an option.

He said at this point the affected parties need to realign themselves and make a point to fulfilling their promise to the Tobago people.
