Police Service Progressing In Fight Against Narcotics In T&T

Seven hundred and ninety-eight million dollars’ worth in drugs has been intercepted by the Police Service in the last two years.

The disclosure was made by Acting Commissioner of Police, Mc Donald Jacob, during today’s sitting of the Joint Select Committee on National Security.

Mr Jacob spoke about the impact of the transactional organised crime and globalisation and the use of this country as a transhipment point for narcotics.

The Acting Commissioner also highlighted the work being done regionally to improve the fight against crime through air, sea and other measures.
