Central Division Police seized a quantity of narcotics and a vehicle during an anti-crime exercise in Las Lomas yesterday.
Around 3 pm on December 2nd, officers of the Las Lomas Police Post and Caroni Police Station, received information and proceeded to Las Lomas #2 where they observed an orange vehicle with a driver known to them. On seeing the officers, the driver exited the vehicle and ran into the bushes making good his escape.
The officers searched the vehicle and found four blocks of marijuana between the two front seats in the vicinity of the hand brake. The packages weighed 2,160 grammes. The marijuana was seized and conveyed to the Las Lomas police post along with the vehicle.
A warrant will be obtained for the arrest of the driver.
The exercise was coordinated by Snr Supt Curt Simon and supervised by Sgts Figaro and Sgt Sixto, and included officers of the Las Lomas Post and Caroni Police Station. PC Katwaroo is continuing enquiries.
