Police seeking to ID headless body found in Beetham River

Police are trying to determine the identity of the headless body of a man, which was found floating in the Beetham River on Wednesday afternoon.

The unidentified corpse was discovered at 4.11 pm by the Hunters Search and Rescue Team, (HSRT).

It was seen floating in the river, which runs parallel to the wastewater treatment plant at Clear Water Road, Beetham.

HSRT says the search was coordinated with ASP Darryl Ramdass, head of the Anti Kidnapping Unit, Sargeant Yearwood of Besson Street Police Station.

The search was also being conducted under the watchful eyes of the Port of Spain Task Force led by Sargeant Guerra.
