Police say special team to investigate woman who entered this country despite positive Covid test

Police say a special investigative team has been tasked to look into the woman who entered this country despite testing positive for COVID-19.
The penalty for falsifying information on a TT Travel Pass is six months in prison and a fine of TT$350,000 or six months imprisonment upon summary conviction.
According to reports, the woman was allowed to board the flight in New York, then to Panama. She presented a negative antigen test to local authorities, which she took in Panama, even though Trinidad’s entry conditions require PCR tests to be submitted.
The woman brought with her Trinidad and Tobago’s first case of the Omicron variant.
