Police probing discovery of man’s decomposing body in Sangre Grande

A post mortem has been ordered to determine the cause of death of a man, whose semi-nude, decomposed body was found at his home in Sangre Grande on Tuesday 9th July, 2024.

The deceased was identified as 77-year-old Learie Hill of Foster Road, Sangre Grande.

Around 11:00am, WPC Thomas in company with officers of the ERP received information of a foul scent emanating from a two-story house along Foster Road.

When they arrived at the scene, they entered the home through a glass front door that was left unlocked and found Hill’s lifeless body, clad only in a boxers on the floor in an advanced state of decomposition.

A DMO was calld to the scene and after making their pronouncements, they ordered the body be removed to the Forensic Science Centre pending a post mortem to determine the actual cause of death.
