Acting Commissioner of Police, McDonald Jacob, says the TTPS is taking a more holistic approach to dealing with the issue of school violence.
He made the comment while speaking with News power Now.
Commissioner Jacob was at the time providing an update on the proposed plan regarding increased police presence at certain schools.
He suggested that the intention is not to have armed officers patrolling in the school but rather have increased patrols around the school around the time school starts and ends.
However he noted that patrols are not the only solution being implemented.
He added that the various stakeholders are aiming to identify the problem at the source and address it accordingly.
