Police join Woodbrook Community Council to launch ‘Air Horn Device’ initiative

Several residents of the St. James and Woodbrook community have for some time complained about crime within the community.

Some instances of what they’ve complained about include home invasions, robbery and vehicle thefts.

These communities are now forming neighbourhood watch groups and one of these groups is the Woodbrook and St. James Neighbourhood Watch.

The group works along with the Woodbrook and St. James branches of the TTPS and the Woodbrook Community Council.

Councillor June Durham along with members of the Woodbrook Community Council, officers of the St. James Branch of the TTPS, officers of the Port of Spain Municipal Police, and Deputy Mayor Councillor Hillan Morean, took part in a launch of an Air Horn Device initiative and passed out flyers to residents to explain the procedure.

The idea is to promote persons to keep an eye open and be able to notify others of any criminal activity or distress in and around the area by the use of an Air Horn.
