Police officer dies while undergoing treatment at Augustus Long Hospital

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service is again mourning another officer who succumbed to illness.

Sergeant Gary Harvey died at 6.30 am Monday while undergoing treatment at the Augustus Long Hospital, Pointe-à-Pierre.

Commissioner of Police, Gary Griffith, and the Executive of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service offered condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Sergeant Harvey.

Mr. Harvey, who had over 25 years’ service, was last attached to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit.

However, he spent most of his policing career at the Homicide Bureau of Investigations.

He leaves to mourn his wife and daughter. His passing is said to have left his immediate colleagues distraught.

Inspector Hezron Lynch, who worked very closely with Mr. Harvey at HBI since 2005, described him as an officer who was extremely
dedicated and a people-oriented law enforcement officer.
