Despite the warnings, some members of the public are continuing to breach the laws currently in place for their own protection, as we battle Covid-19.
Police reported that they arrested 73 people for breach of curfew hours this past weekend, while 152 people were ticketed for not wearing their face masks and six people were arrested for breach of the Public Health Regulations.
The TTPS said 28 more people had been arrested Saturday for breaching the curfew, adding to the 45 who were arrested during the previous reporting period.
It also reported that 61 more people were charged with face mask violations, adding to the 91 during the previous reporting period.
The TTPS conducted 494 patrols on Saturday and 412 Friday for a total of 906 patrols and set up a total of 85 roadblocks over the weekend.
217 officers have also now tested positive for COVID-19 and 1,096 are currently in quarantine.
