Staff members at the Point Fortin Local Board Office got a chance to highlight their concerns to Minister of Social Development and Family Services, Donna Cox, who paid an impromptu visit to the Ministry’s Office recently.
During the visit, staff members were able to relay their concerns to the Minister Cox, including the need for suitable accommodation.
Minister Cox informed staff the COVID-19 pandemic impacted the way we share public spaces and has further prompted the Ministry to look into finding suitable and safe accommodation for both clients and staff.
Minister Cox indicated she has enlisted the assistance of the MP to source a staff and client friendly location.
Among other issues addressed and discussed were client influx, health, safety and accessibility.
Minister Cox encouraged staff to ensure that the clients they serve are treated with dignity and respect.
