The fourteen one loss in the Tobago House of Assembly Election in January this year should serve as a serious wakeup call and warning for the ruling People’s National Movement.
Its the view of Political Analyst, Rishi Maharaj, while speaking during Power 102 Digital Breakfast Show on Wednesday.
Mr Maharaj said such a massive loss for the PNM should send a loud and clear message to the party moving forward it cannot be business as usual.
He said this is because the people are closely monitoring how the party is handling the country’s business and will act accordingly when it’s time to cast their ballots.
Mr Maharaj said with the Local Government Election scheduled to come off later this year it’s critical the focus should be to ensure stability in these challenging times.
Mr Maharaj said the local government election can serve as a gauge for political sides to assess their performance.
