PNM Says It Has Retained Seven Regional Corporations After Monday’s LGE Poll

Prime Minister, Dr. Keith Rowley, reveals the PNM has retained seven regional corporations following Monday’s Local government election.

Dr. Rowley cited victory in Diego Martin, Port of Spain, Piarco /Tunapuna, Arima, Point Fortin, San Fernando and one seat in Princess Town.

Speaking with reporters at Baliser House on Monday night, Dr Rowley said in the middle of the party’s second term in office the PNM has done well.

Questioned on what’s next for the PNM, Dr Rowley  said now that the elections are over it time to focus on the operational side of an improved local government system and getting ready for the next general election.

The Prime Minister called on the Opposition to support the transition into an upgraded local government arrangement.
