PM warns: Masks to be made mandatory again if neccesary

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley says masks will be made compulsory again if it required once again.

He issued the warning at a press conference this morning.

He says while people will welcome the opportunity to be relieved of the restrictions caused by COVID, COVID is not behind us.

He warned this morning that while the restrictions have been removed, the virus is still around.

The Prime Minister urged the public to remember that things are still not back to normal.

He added that the variants of the virus are still posing a problem.

Dr Rowley said that WHO’s recommendation that masks be still worn will be taken into consideration.

He warned that while the Government has opted to now make mask-wearing voluntary, it will not hesitate to make it mandatory once again.
