Religious leaders are being encouraged to maintain a strong presence in the society.
The words of support come from Prime Minister, Dr Keith Rowley, while speaking during a Spiritual Shouter Baptist Liberation Day event in La Horquetta on Monday evening.
The event was hosted by the People’s National Movement.
Dr Rowley noted the importance of positive family and other values which are instilled in the home.
The Prime Minister said these values go a long way in shaping and guiding the lives of young people, helping them build useful characters.
Dr Rowley said the society is feeling the effects of crime and urged people to live according to the positive upbringings which they have been taught to them.
