PM Reminds Journalists Of Importance Of Fact Checking During Caribbean Broadcasting Union General Assembly

Journalists are reminded of the important principle of fact checking in the carrying out of their profession.

The significance of this is vital especially at a time when there is need for truth to be at the forefront.

The advice comes from Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley.

Dr Rowley made the comment while delivering the keynote address during the 53rd Annual General Assembly of the Caribbean Broadcasting Union on Monday.

The Prime Minister cited the need to verify information received.

Dr Rowley said journalists may be able to carry out their duties without giving in to external guidance or intervention.
