Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley has confirmed that retail stores are next in line as he seeks to slowly reopen the local economy.
He made the statement on Thursday, during a post cabinet briefing in Tobago.
Rowley said he could not give a timeline on when retail stores would reopen, but he pointed out that the workers in this sector are currently being targeted in the vaccination drive.
On the issue of beaches, the PM said while he too would like to be on the beach in August, the reopening of that will not come before the time is right.
He warned of the danger of re-opening things too quickly and too soon, saying it can undo progress and even force restrictions back into place.
