PM cleared in Miami bank account allegations

Police Commissioner Gary Griffith has divulged the initial report of an investigation into allegations that Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley was connected to a Miami bank a account and received illicit payments from A&V Drilling through a Miami-based bank, based on preliminary investigations.

The Police Commissioner Gary Griffith and Superintendent Wendell Lucas made the disclosure during the news briefing yesterday at Police Administration Building, Port of Spain.

The COP said: “In regards to the allegation made by that Member of Parliament UNC MP Dr Roodal Moonilal to the PM, the findings have revealed, the preliminary findings, that there was no nexus between the subject and the account number identified in that case summary, based on the account. And there was no identified transaction between the subject and the other subjects identified.

Dr. Rowley staunchly denied the allegations made by Dr. Monilal in the Parliament.

The Commissioner also said the police service will not be running behind every allegation especially during the campaign season but he will determine which allegations are worthy of further investigations by the TTPS.
