PM: Amendments to THA Act coming

There may soon be 15 seats in Tobago instead of 12.

That was revealed by Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley today during a press conference a the Diplomatic Centre, St Ann’s.

After dealing with Covid and the return to schools for some of our children, the PM touched on the current stalemate on the sister isle of Tobago and revealed that amendments to the THA (Tobago House of Assembly) Act will be drafted and debated in Parliament “in a few days.”

He said that following talks with the Attorney General they are considering having 15 seats in Tobago instead of 12. He believes this idea will less the chances of a deadlock in the future.

Rowley said “The longer we take to do this is the longer the current situation will remain in place.”
He said he wants this process to be done as swiftly as possible and asked Tobagonians to be patient.
