Picton man shot dead; one wounded

A Picton man was shot dead in Laventille on Tuesday night while another was wounded after a shooting in John John.

According to reports officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) received a report of gunshots being heard at Plaisance Terrace, John John, at around 8.42 pm and visited the crime scene.

When officers arrived they noticed that a black Mitsubishi lancer appeared to have crashed into a silver Nissan B15 at the side of the road.

An Add News TT report state that officers found the body of Ikemfula Monroe, 37, bleeding from gunshot wounds in his upper body.

A district medical officer also visited the scene and declared Monroe dead.

Investigators said a second man was wounded in the attack and left the scene and went to the hospital before police arrived.

Officers found 24, 5.0 shell casings and 12, 4.0 she’ll casings.

Region I officers are continuing enquiries.
