Transparency Activist and Corporate Governance specialist Afra Raymond has likened the Piarco airport scandal investigation to the investigations into Nazi death-camps.
Director of Public Prosecution, Roger Gaspard, cited the age of the case and the costs incurred by the State thus far as a reason for ending the case against former Prime Minister Basdeo Panday and three businesmen.
Speaking with News Power Now this morning, Raymond said that time should never be a barrier to discovering the truth.
He described the decision by the DPP as a testing moment.
Raymond suggested that T&T’s society still does not believe corruption to be a serious crime as he pondered whether the same decision would be made for a man facing a murder charge for example.
