Pfizer CEO, Albert Bourla recently announced that persons may need a fourth shot of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, as they have seen, it necessary, to be totally protected against COVID-19.
Bourla told “Face the Nation” during an interview, that what you are getting from the third, is good enough, actually quite good for hospitalizations and deaths, but it’s not that good against infections.
“Early and preliminary data” Pfizer gathered showed a fourth dose would also target the Omicron variant.
“We will continue to collect and assess all available data and remain in open dialogue with regulators and health authorities to help inform a COVID-19 vaccine strategy as the virus evolves,” said Pfizer spokesperson Steven Danehy in a statement.
