Peter George furloughs 275 workers for three months due to covid pandemic

Businessman and restaurateur Peter George and his management team have made the difficult decision to furlough 2 workers for three months due to covid pandemic.
The Trent Restaurant Group will be furloughed for three months as the group’s operations have now been suspended because of the non-viability of curbside and takeaway food service, which is the only option now available to food retain services in Trinidad and Tobago.

The group through its owner Peter George this past week sent an internal memo to staff saying they would implement a new rule for staff who were unvaccinated to pay for a PCR Covid-19 test every two weeks or not be rostered for work.

Trent Group, the popular Buzo Italian restaurant includes Trotters, Amara, Blue Star Diner and Tommy’s Brewing Company confirmed in a social media post yesterday that the suspension of its restaurant operations comes into effect at 9 p.m. on Monday.
The group outlined their businesses are predicated on a dining experience and curtsied and takeaway services are not viable options for their business model.
