Penal preschool broken into and ransacked

A preschool housed within the same building as the Penal Presbyterian Church was broken into sometime on Monday night.

When the children at the Penal Presbyterian Preschool arrived on Tuesday morning, they had to be sent back home.

The thief is said to have prised open a side door to get into the building.

General secretary of the Presbyterian Church Terrence Warde reported that nothing appeared to be missing from the church, but the preschool was ransacked, as the intruder appeared to be in search of money. He said the act seemed to have been committed by a homeless person.

He said the church was concerned that places of worship and schools were no longer sacred spaces.
morning, they were sent back, as Penal police were there.

According to a Newsday report, there was also an attempted break-in at the Carapichaima Presbyterian Primary School on Monday.

Investigations are continuing in both matters.
