PDP claims PNM is stalling to appoint a Presiding Officer

Deputy Political Leader of the Progressive Democratic Patriots, Farley Augustine, is claiming there is a lack of urgency on the part of the People’s National Movement to resolve sticking points in the appointment of a Presiding Officer of the Tobago House Assembly.

Earlier today, there was a six –six deadlock in voting to appoint a Presiding Officer; a similar result happened occurred last week.

The PDP Deputy Leader, speaking at a news briefing this afternoon, said the time has come for maturity in leadership to be displayed.

Mr Augustine also commented on the PNM’s decision to put forward a new nominee for Presiding Officer whose name was not revealed.
