PCA to probe Freeport police shooting which left six suspected bandits dead

Following the deaths of six people who were shot and killed by police in Mission Road, Freeport, yesterday morning. the Police Complaints Authority has launched an investigation.

According to an Express report, confirmation of the probe was provided by PCA head, David West.

The PCA is also continuing its probe into Sunday’s shooting deaths by police of one woman and two teenage boys in Caroni, he said.

Post-mortems on the teens and woman were expected to take place earlier this week, but according to relatives, their bodies were not brought to the Forensic Science Centre, Federation Park, either on Tuesday or yesterday.

Killed on Sunday were Jiah Jody Bharath, 21; Amir “Pa” Bissoon, 17; and Joseph Ramjit, 19.

Police alleged Bissoon was a member of the Resistance gang and Ramjit was allegedly affilia­ted with the gang.
