PCA looking into deaths of 2 suspects in Andrea Bharatt’s case

The Police Complaints Authority is investigating the deaths of two suspects in the Andrea Bharatt case.

Andrew Morris died on February 1st and Joel Balcon on February 8th.

Both had been in police custody, and the TTPS maintains that both had sustained injuries after struggling with officers.

The PCA will also investigate two other matters.

It will look at reports of the alleged failure by members of the TTPS to prosecute, tender evidence, and attend court hearing matters.

This allegation came from a local attorney, following public criticism over the number of matters against Balcon – he had 45 charges pending at the time of his death.

An investigation has also been launched into matters related to the arrest of DSS founder Kerron Clarke in La Horquetta on February 6th.

According to reports, he was briefly hospitalized while in custody, after complaining of chest pains.

The PCA is bound by law to investigate allegations of serious misconduct by the TTPS and is calling on persons with information about these incidents to contact it at 226-4722 or at [email protected].

It assures that all information received will be confidential.
