PCA in need of more legislative support

Close to two hundred police killings have taken place in TT in the last six years.

That was the revelation made by David West, Director of the Police Complaints Authority, at the start of a virtual series organised by the Caribbean Centre for Human Rights and Dialogue Solutions on Police Use of Deadly Force on Thursday.

Mr West says the PCA does not have the power to prosecute or discipline police officers.

The PCA head says the Authority is in need of more legislative support to better carry out its work.

Attorney-at-Law, Rebecca Rafeek, who is attached to the Caribbean Centre for Human Rights revealed the purpose of holding this event.
