Opposition Leader, Kamla Persad Bissessar, is suggesting the new appointments to the Police Service Commission be paused until a detailed review is done of the factors which eventually contributed to the collapse of the Police Service Commission.
The Member of Parliament for Siparia made the suggestion while contributing to the debate on the motion to approve appointments to the Police Service Commission Wednesday afternoon.
All members of the former PSC resigned over the appointment of a new Commissioner of Police.
MP Persad Bissessar said moving forward on this subject it cannot be business as usual as elements which led to the development should be examined.
The Opposition Leader also raised procedural concerns on how the process relating to the nominees is being done in the parliament.
