Parliament Will Have Its Say On Adjustments To The Coat Of Arms

The government will allow the parliament to have its say and input on plans to change the coat of arms replacing the three Columbus ships with the national instrument the steel pan.

Prime Minister, Dr Keith Rowley, says the ruling administration will follow the process on this issue and dismissed claims from some quarters it is acting in a high handed manner on this move.

He said the coat of arms issue is just one matter but will not override other areas of national importance and  development.

Questioned by a reporter on the issue of cost to do such a move, Dr Rowley said it will not be an expensive venture.

On another issue, the Prime Minister said a lot of financial support has been given to the pan fraternity and is pleased the manufacturing of steel pan is taking place in Diego Martin.
