Paria’s Rescue Response, Following 2022 Diving Tragedy, Detailed At COE

Paria Fuel Trading Company Limited says from the time five divers were sucked into the pipeline on February 25th, last year, the main focus was  on getting reports on the internal condition of the pipeline through video footage.

However, Terminal and Trading General Manager at Paria , Mushtaq Mohammed, made it clear the company was not only dependent on video footage but sourced expert input from professional and commercial diving companies.

Mr Mohammed said based on the emergency response plan it had with LMCS, they were the first responders as they had divers available.

Mr Mohammed was at the time responding to questioning from Ramesh Lawrence Maharaj, lead counsel for the Commission of Enquiry.

He said the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard also gave their input into the development.
