Paria Commision of Enquiry could be just “for show”

Commissions of Enquiry in T&T often end up being for show.

This is the assertion coming from attorney at law and former Police Service Commission member, Martin George.

Speaking on Power 102 Digital’s Power Breakfast Show, Mr George said Commissions of Enquiry usually end up being a waste of time and money.

His comments come as the Commission of Enquiry into the Paria diving tragedy began in earnest this week with lawyers for Paria presenting their case while the lone survivor Chris Boodram gave an emotional testimony yesterday.

George expressed little hope that this Commission of Enquiry will not end like others with reams of paper stacked in an office somewhere and no real outcome.
